About our club...

The Doll Collectors Club of East Hawaii was founded in 1991 on the Big Island of Hawaii by Ruth Sleightholm and her friends. Members are from varied backgrounds but we all just enjoy getting together to talk about our common interests. We donate money every year to various community service organizations. We also provide dolls and teddy bears to children in difficult life situations. This year, 2016, we have had a food drive for The Food Basket, donated toys and dolls to the Sally's Shop in Hilo, collected backpacks for children in shelters and school supplies for the children who se families can't afford them. We have also done visits to schools and to Life Care Center to talk about collecting dolls. In the past years we have done several exhibitions at the Wailoa Center in Hilo, Hawaii.

If you would like to join our club or just visit, we meet every 3rd Saturday (except in Dec.) in Kea'au, Hawaii at the Keaau Community Center behind the Police Station from 11am to 2pm. Membership is only $12 a year. We have a pot luck or brown bag lunch, drawings, show and tell and demonstrations by members and invited guests. If you would like more information please use our Contact page to send a question.
